The Cats of Music Education: Estelle Jorgensen - Transformer

Estelle Jorgensen is another titan of our field that we should all know. We think the video above really captures her ‘hipness’ too. Notice how excited she is about a new thing - that’s such a powerful model for us all.

You can learn more about Jorgensen through her blog but the short story is that she’s a massively important Music Education Philosopher (MEP). Check this - she is the founder of the Philosophy Special Research Interest Group of the National Association for Music Education and co-founder of the International Society for the Philosophy of Music Education. Her writing on music education has been a huge influence on our Gig Based Learning approach. We love all of her books and articles but here are a few of our favourites to get you started on the journey.
